Description: 

Reaching 50-80 feet tall and 20-40 feet wide, this graceful conifer adds vertical interest and shade to your property. Thrives in various soil conditions whether it’s dry, sandy, or rocky! But prefers full sun, moist, well-drained soils, and cool climates. Attracts butterflies, pollinators, songbirds, and small mammals, relatively fast-growing and tolerant of many pests and diseases.

Natives United States, Canada, Europe, and East Asia

Environmental Concerns: 

Future climate change presents both challenges and opportunities for the management of white pine. The current study indicates potential vulnerabilities of white pine radial growth in the northern portion of its range to higher temperatures, summer moisture stress, and crown damage by high winds and heavy snowfall.
